Playford Alive are proud to be sponsoring the Skatelight Program delivered to the community by the City of Playford.
The program engages young skate park users from Munno Para and Elizabeth to co-design youth led social support programs. The programs are facilitated by locally trained youth sector leaders, and with support from volunteers, are implementing a collaborative strategy delivering physical activity programs to promote social inclusion and positive physical and mental wellbeing.
Since Skatelight commenced in August 2021, 425 young people have attended. Young people that have attended the Program are being referred to local council programs, employment agencies, support services and local youth drop-in centres which is a great outcome in building strength, capacity, and resilience in our community.
The free program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly, 3.30pm — 5.30pm at the Playford Alive Town Park.
