Playford Alive Initiatives Fund Grants Celebration 2025
A total of $63,623.31 has been awarded to eleven community organisations at Playford Alive as part of this year’s Playford Alive Initiatives Fund (PAIF) annual grant round.
Since its establishment in 2009, the Playford Alive Initiatives Fund, supported by Renewal SA, The City of Playford, and the SA Housing Trust, has awarded close to $837,000 to projects that make a positive difference to the Playford Alive community.
Yesterday, on Wednesday 29 October, we celebrated this year’s grant recipients at a special ceremony held at the Stretton Centre, hosted by City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty.
This year’s grant recipients include:

The church organises the annual WonderFULL Christmas Festival, now in its eighth year, which brings together over 1,600 attendees for a free, family-friendly celebration featuring food, music, activities – and this year, fireworks. The event fosters connection and joy across all ages and backgrounds.
Community Matters Playford Inc
Established in 2020, Community Matters Playford Inc is a grassroots advocacy group that empowers residents to voice concerns and influence decisions affecting their neighbourhood. This year’s grant will support the Playford Lolly Run, a festive initiative where Santa visits local streets handing out packaged lollies, spreading cheer and encouraging community engagement during the first two weeks of December.

Founded in 2022, Andrews Farm Cricket Club provides a safe, inclusive and competitive environment for cricket lovers of all ages and skill levels. Schools Ministry Group – Life Matters Seminars
In addition to Kimochis, Schools Ministry Group also runs Life Matters Seminars, which focus on mental health, life skills and wellbeing. These seminars are offered free of charge to schools in the Playford area, helping students build confidence, emotional intelligence and practical skills for everyday life.
Hands of Hope Foundation Inc
Founded in 2019, Hands of Hope Foundation provides wraparound support services for women and families recovering from domestic violence. Their trauma-informed programs help survivors rebuild their lives with dignity and independence. Founded in 1992, Northern Wolves Soccer Club is a community-focused organisation that promotes sport, teamwork and social inclusion. The club caters to both junior and senior players and is expanding its reach. This funding will support upgrades to AV equipment, gameday gear, marquees and coaching resources, helping the club accommodate more participants and improve the overall experience.

Munno Para Primary School – Community Connections
Munno Para Primary School’s Community Connections initiative works closely with Playford Uniting Church to strengthen ties between the school and the wider community. The grant will fund the installation of two community benches outside the school’s outdoor learning area, creating a welcoming space for social interaction and fostering a sense of belonging.

Operating since 1970, Munno Para Athletics Centre encourages participation and personal improvement in athletics for all ages, starting from three years old. The grant will be used to purchase storage containers, a trolley cart, and a new starter for the timing system, ensuring safe and efficient event management.
