Community stallholders and performers

The Playford Alive Community Fun Day is all about community. The event organisers of the Community Fun Day endeavour to get as many local businesses, community groups, schools and residents involved on the day as possible.

The event is primarily funded by Playford Alive (a partnership between Renewal SA, DCSI: Housing SA and City of Playford) with support from the Community Reference Group.

This means the event itself is free to attend with all entertainment and activities included. Residents and guests are welcome to bring a picnic or packed lunch, otherwise food and drink is available to purchase.

Community stalls also have the option to sell their merchandise.

Background

The Playford Alive Community Fun Day was the vision of the Imagine Peachey Group. The Imagine Peachey Group was a key stakeholder group that was formed in November 2004. Its members were drawn from the Peachey Belt area and a number were also members of the Playford Alive Community Reference Group.

Now in its fourteenth year, the Playford Alive Community Fun Day continues to grow. Today, it is estimated that the event attracts up to 7,000 people over the course of the day.

Community stalls, face painters, activities and entertainment, food and drink stalls will be participating as well as local musicians performing on-stage leading up to a performance by a well-known Australian artist.

There really is something for the whole family to enjoy.
